A probiotic for your mouth, not just your gut
Your mouth has its own community of bacteria. Oral probiotics are chewable tablets that add friendly strains to it. Here is what one popular option contains, what the research says, what it costs and how the refund works.

What ProDentim is
ProDentim is a chewable probiotic tablet sold through ClickBank. You let one dissolve in your mouth each morning. According to the seller, each serving contains 3.5 billion probiotic bacteria from three strains, plus four other ingredients:
| Ingredient | What it is |
|---|---|
| Lactobacillus reuteri | The most studied probiotic strain for gums |
| Lactobacillus paracasei | A lactic acid bacterium found in fermented foods |
| Bifidobacterium lactis BL-04 | A common probiotic strain |
| Inulin | A plant fiber that feeds friendly bacteria |
| Malic acid | A fruit acid, found in strawberries and apples |
| Tricalcium phosphate | A calcium salt |
| Peppermint | Flavor |
What the research says
- Some small trials found that Lactobacillus reuteri lozenges improved gum inflammation and plaque scores in people with gingivitis. Reviews that pool the trials find the effect small or uncertain.
- For bad breath, trials of oral probiotics show mixed results, with the clearest benefits in short studies of four weeks or less.
- Researchers describe the evidence as promising but limited by small studies and short follow-up (Schlagenhauf and Jockel-Schneider, 2021).
- Probiotics do not replace brushing twice a day, cleaning between your teeth and regular dental checkups.
